DDC Doda reviews progress of ongoing works under JJM
Doda 04 Feb – Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh IAS,who is also Chairman of the Jal Jeevan Mission, chairs a progress review meeting to oversee the implementation and progress made under Jal Shakti Mission in the district .
The meeting was attended by key officials from the JJM,Public Health Engineering Department, Rural Development Department, and other concerned departments.
During the meeting, the DC stressed on the importance of ensuring timely and effective implementation of the Jal Shakti Mission to provide safe and sustainable drinking water supply to all households in the district.
Various aspects of the mission, such as the dug wells , installation of hand pumps, bore wells, sand filtration tanks, slow sand filtration tanks, and maintenance of existing infrastructure, were discussed in detail.
The officials presented a comprehensive report on the progress made so far and highlighted the challenges encountered during the implementation of the mission. Various schemes under JJM are in different stages of progress with 185 projects initiated on the ground with total tender cost of the projects stand at ₹748.31.
The DC directed all departments to collaborate closely and expedite the implementation process to achieve the mission’s objectives within the stipulated timeframe.
DC issued specific directives to concerned officers and officials, including maintaining proper household records,completion of filtration tanks and non-functional hand pumps’ restoration, and tapping into natural water resources.
