EXPENDITURE OBSERVER VISITED DODA,DISCUSSED EXPENDITURE MONITORING FOR UDHAMPUR PARLIAMENTARY CONSTITUENCY.
DODA MARCH 20: Expenditure Observer of Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency, Mohammad Ghayasuddin today reviewed the preparedness for conduct of free, fair and transparent elections in Chenab region here at a meeting of District Election officers of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban.
ARO’s, Nodal Officers of MCC, Expenditure Monitoring Committees, VST, VVT, FST, SST of these districts and other officials also attended the meeting.
Expenditure Observer informed the meeting in detail about the logistics and working of all the committees appointed by the DEO’s in their respective districts.He laid thrust on expenditure monitoring and asked to record the expenses of the contesting candidates in their registers on daily basis, which will be evaluated by the ECI and observer jointly.
He has also apprised the meeting about the election expenses rates which are duly certified and already approved by the expenditure monitoring committee and has also informed about ceiling limits of Rs 70 lakh for a candidate contesting in a constituency which should not get exceeded and has to be assesse by the respective AEOs on daily basis.
He informed that a candidate can spend only ten thousand in cash and above that only cheque payment is admissible that too under his registered bank account.He has also informed about various applications developed by ECI such as Cvigil,Suvidha,1950 toll free land line number on which people can register their grievances regarding election activities which are prohibited under MCC.Expenditure observer directed all the teams to be vigilant during the campaigning that no activity shall go un accounted and if anything found foul against any candidate/party during election,must be recorded with sound and clear evidences which will be used against them during the course of investigation.
