*Advisor Kumar Reviews Developmental And Security Scenario in Doda*

DODA,July 20: Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar visited Doda to review the progress of major developmental projects and security scenario in the district.

 

The Advisor convened a meeting with the district officers of various departments to review the project-wise status of all ongoing developmental projects.

 

DG Police Jammu and Kashmir Dilbag Singh, ADG Police Munir Khan, DDC Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode, SSP Doda Shabir Ahmed Malik, ADDC Imam Din, ADC Kishori Lal Sharma, CPO Parshotam Kumar, ACR Kaiser Ahmed Bhawani, ACD Davender Singh Bhau besides other senior officers were present in the meeting.

 

DDC Doda gave a detailed presentation and highlighted the sector-wise progress of major projects and key flagship schemes of different sectors like CRF, PMGSY, Health, ongoing construction of GMC doda,Forest and Sports taken up in the district.

 

DDC apprised the Advisor about the status of all ongoing projects in the district which includes construction of newly sanctioned GMC Doda, construction of multipurpose indoor hall at Doda, development of play fields,besides other development projects which are under execution.

 

K Vijay Kumar while reviewing the status of the projects held detailed discussions with the concerned officers and asked for close monitoring of the works for their timely completion. All these projects are of public importance and the completion should not be delayed because of any reason, he added.

 

While discussing the functioning of health department, the Advisor said that doctors and paramedics are recruited in good numbers after the establishment of GMC in the area  and also assured that shortage of staff will be resolved soon. He asked the health department to work with dedication towards ensuring better health care facilities to the people in the district.

 

While reviewing the construction and upgradation of various road projects of district Doda, DDC apprised the Advisor about the various issues which are creating problem in completing those projects like court stays, pending technical sanctions from the higher authorities etc.  

 

Advisor directed the executing agencies  to furnish the current status of projects to his office and ask them to work in co-ordination with each other so that issue shall be resolved for their early completion. The projects should not be delayed just because of any mis-coordination as these are likely to be completed for the convenience of the public.

 

Besides directed all the district and sectoral officer’s to submit the details of all the pending court cases within days to his office.

 

DDC informed the meeting that 89 play grounds have been completed last year while 148 play grounds are identified for this year. For completion of work of multipurpose indoor hall, Kumar directed to Executive Engineer JKPCC to fulfil the requisite demand within a week time so that the amount required for the completion of the project shall be provided to the executing agency.

 

Kumar also directed him to follow up the matter with the concerned quarters for demand of funds required for completion of various projects pending due to the shortage of funds or due to any other reason within days positively.

 

He directed the CEO Doda to check the punctuality and regularity of the teachers on daily basis,besides ask all the district and sectoral officer’s to get regular feedback regarding implementation of various Government schemes meant for welfare of the people and stressed on need-based development of far flung areas of the district.

 

Further ask the DDC to constitute a committee of concerned Officers in the district which will purely work for empowering the newly constituted panchayats across the district.

 

The Advisor appreciated the efforts of district administration for effective implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes in different sectors.

 

Addressing the meeting, the Advisor asked the officers for proper and judicious utilization of funds by ensuring time bound completion of development works and flagship schemes. He asked the DDC to hold review meetings on regular basis to assess the progress of different schemes being executed for the welfare of people.

 

During the visit, various deputation’s also met the Advisor and projected demands of different nature. The Advisor assured all deputations of early resolution to their respective demands.

 

Earlier, the Advisor before the arrival at Doda visited Bhaderwah wherein he met public delegations of different areas who also apprised the Advisor of their concerns and demands,besides took stock of information regarding security scenario in the area.

 

K Vijay Kumar gave a patient hearing to the issues raised by the delegations and assured them that their demands will be resolved on priority basis.
