*P K Pole reviewed the development scenario of District Doda*

Secretary to Govt, Department of Disaster Management Relief,Rehabilation,Reconstruction/FCS & CA,P K Pole on Friday chaired a meeting to take overall review of developmental scenario of Doda district as the In-charge Secretary for monitoring the development related activities in the district.
 
At the outset, DDC, Dr Sagar D Doifode presented the district profile besides overall status of developmental projects, implementation of state and centrally sponsored schemes, scenario of Health, Education, PDD, PHE,RDD,PWD, status of languishing projects,capex budget achievements,and other development projects taken by various departments.
 
During the meeting,P K Pole reviews the achievements of RDD for the current financial year and ask the concerned authorities to pull up their field functionaries for achieving the allocated target within the fixed timeline, besides ACD also informed the secretary that department is also taking up the projects under Jal Shakti Abhiyan which will further enhance the rate of man-days upto sufficient number.
 
While discussing Agriculture Sector, P K Pole inquired about Organic Farming Projects, Intensive Vegetable Cluster Areas, Intensive Species Development Project, Soil Health Cards and distribution of Kissan Credit Card(KCC), enrollment of left out beneficiaries under PM KISAN and review the implementation of PM Fasal Bima Yojana in the district.
 
He suggested for conducting area wise soil analysis, and educating the farmers to grow suitable crops and the nutrients to be added in the soil.
 
Besides Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) was asked to prepare a credible plan for doubling farmers income by motivating them to practice allied agri activities,besides ask the agriculture and allied sector departments to organise a workshop for the progressive farmers within the next 15 days during which various schemes and benefits shall be highlighted infront to them under the said program.
 
For effective implementation of schemes related to welfare of farmers, P K Pole stressed on setting targets and reviewing the progress after regular intervals so that achievement under different schemes can be quantified. He further asked to involve various Self Help groups in food processing activities as they will also help in generating extra income for farmers.
 
While discussing the PDD department Secretary exhorted upon the authorities to complete all the projects under centre,state and district share within the fixed timeline,besides to register the left out consumers,proper electrification of un electrified house holds and to take up the task of erection of poles on priority basis.
 
Achievements under Social Security Schemes were also highlighted during the meeting. He stressed for the adoption of a camp approach rather than office approach for better results and directed for wide publicity of these schemes for maximum registration under target populace.
 
Different languishing schemes under various sectors in the district were discussed threadbare and it was directed that all these schemes must be executed on time with regular monitoring mechanism.
 
Plantation drives, promoting Eco Tourism and giving Forest clearance for development projects were few issues discussed while reviewing Forest sector.
 
While giving out details for Education department, DDC revealed that there is sufficient pupil teacher ratio in the district at primary and middle school level besides informed the meeting that there is lack of staff at Hr Sec School level.Further DDC also told the secretary that district administration has also started a project under tagline “Zemidari ek ehsaas” in order to improve the quality of school buildings,besides initiative for grading of schools on different identified parameters were also done,for which secretary has applauded the administration for taking such kind of initiative.
 
In PHE sector, Ex En informed the secretary that 33 schemes are ongoing in which 06 schemes are completed and will be inaugrated in the upcoming month and rest of the schemes will be completed by the end of this financial year,besides plan for 100 per cent piped water coverage was discussed in detail and P K Pole directed the Executive Engineer PHE to prepare a planned document depicting how 100 per cent piped water coverage is ensured in the district.
 
Vacancies of Doctors, Non Functional PHCs, medicine availability, ambulance services and Ayushman Bharat scheme were all discussed in Health sector and he directed to conduct a survey for left over beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat scheme.
 
Regarding tourism sector,he directed the CEO BDA to prepare a new master plan for the development of tourism sector in the district, also directed them to identify the new trek routes leading towards different tourist destination at Doda as well as in Bhaderwah which shall be accorded with sufficient facilities like construction of stairs, installation of sign’s on the trek routes etc, besides ask them to promote some traditional water bodies as a tourist attractions in the district.
 
Moreover he directed all the department’s to shift their approach of working on conventional patterns to the modern days innovative initiatives,be more public friendly,besides to lay more focus on youth oriented programs and to organise more programs on improving skill development activities in handloom, handicrafts, agriculture and its allied sectors.
