Distribution of Assistive Devices among CWSN under Samagra Shiksha in District Doda

Doda, October 05:-  A Three days distribution camps  were conducted by Education department in collaboration with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), under Samagra Shiksha at MS Gandoh, HSS (G) Bhaderwah and District Headquarter Doda were in 373 children with special need (CWSN) have been provided assistive devices. Prior to distribution camp health assessment camps by specialist team of ALIMCO were conducted in the month of September 2018 across the district Doda under close supervision of Chief Education Officer Doda as per the direction of the state project Directopr Sh. Arun Kumar Manhas.
 
These health assessment camps were organized at Resource Centre Doda, M.S Gandoh, LHS Nagar Bhaderwah, Resource Centre Thathri and 1447 CWSN were assessed out of which 373 CWSN were identified as beneficiaries. 
 
The purpose this exercise is just to provide assistive devices among CWSN of age 6-18 years so that such children feel esayness for doing daily life activities as well as go to school for their studies without any impediments.
 
Under this scheme more than 4000 CWSN have been benefited since inception of scheme. About 80 surgeries especially cleft ones have been  successfully conducted from Amandeep Hospital Amritsar. 
 
The parents of beneficiaries and civil societies appreciated the such fabulous steps of Education Department for providing additional benefits to children other than education, Uniform, MDM, Scholarship, Exposure tours etc.
