*DC Doda reviews preparedness to prevent Corona virus*_Calls for effective surveillance and timely reporting of cases_
DODA, JANUARY 29: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode today convened the meeting of District Surveillance Committee to review the preparedness put in place by the concerned officials regarding the prevention of Corona virus in the district.
During the meeting, District Epidemiologist Umar Anayat gave a detail presentation regarding the preventive measures/steps taken to prevent the affect of Corona virus and the measures taken by the health department to tackle the cases if any in the district.
MS District Hospital apprised the DC that already a isolation ward has been established in the district hospital for the treatment of patients diagnosed with affect of Corona virus if any, besides informed by the CMO that rapid response in this regard team has been already constituted.
DC has directed the CMO to ensure that the record of those patients who are having flu from more than 14 days shall be maintained at district, block and PHC level, besides also directed to record their 14 days travel history when they come up for check-up.
Moreover he ordered to constitute a committee under the supervision of SSP Doda with Principal GDC as its Nodal officer alongwith one health department member to prepare a list of those candidates who are studying outside India particularly in China where it has catastrophic affect.
DC said that preventive measures are a key to contain the virus and asked for generating mass awareness through print and electronic media.
Among others, senior officers of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
