DDC Doda launches SPARSH awareness campaign
DODA, JANUARY 30: District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode today launched Sparsh Leprosy Awareness Campaign for awareness of the general masses in the District.
CMO Dr. M.A Shah and District Health Officer Dr.M.A Tariq apprised DDC that campaign is fortnight programme during which awareness camps will be organized at Panchayat and village level where gram sabhas/ panchayat meeting will be organized in co-operation with Health Department, Panchayti Raj institution, Rural Development, Urban Development, Women & Child Development, Education and Social Justice and Empowerment Department from 30th January to 13th February 2020. The officers concerned informed that public shall be awared about the sign and symptom of leprosy and pledge shall be given to the public that they will not hate person effected with leprosy and shall guide them for treatment.
On the occasion officers who were present were ACR, CPO, Epidemiologist and officials of DC Office, CMO Office and Deputy CMO Office Doda.
DDC asked the officers that they shall leave no stone unturned to make our district free from Leprosy and will make all efforts to find all leprosy cases as early as possible and will not discriminate the persons effected with lepory and will not allow others to do any type of discrimination with persons affected by Leprosy.
A pledge was also administered to the participants on the occasion.
Similarly, various programmes were held under the National Leprosy Eradication Programme at Medical Block Ghat /Assar/Gandoh/Thathri and Bhaderwah where Doctors paramedics were also present.
