*Availability of better subsidiary services,specialist doctors,decrease in referrals changed the health scenario of the district in recent times* _Significant growth in institutional deliveries,high rate of attendance in OPDs,conduct of successful major surgeries,better lab tests and other services recorded across the district*DDC Doda.

DODA, February 18:
District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode convened a meeting of
officials of health department, took stock of functioning of the department besides reviewed
the financial and physical progress of various ongoing projects.

The meeting was attended by CPO, CMO, Medical Superintendent District Hospital
Doda,all BMO’s, District Asha Coordinator, District Program Manager NHM besides other
officials of health department were present during the meeting.
At the outset CMO Doda Dr Mushtaq Ahmed apprised the DDC about the progress made
by the department under various indicators like number of patients attended OPD, treated in
IPD, institutional deliveries, successful surgeries, conduct of lab tests, x-rays besides
apprised the DDC about the progress on RBSK,RNTCP, Ayushman Bharat, Leprosy, NCD
etc.
CMO informed the meeting that in comparison to the last year this year a substantial
progress has been recorded across the district in all parameters, the reason stated
availability of better subsidiary services, specialised doctors, consultants, establishment of
GMC Doda which not only provided better healthcare services but also has reduced the
referrals of patients by 40% approximately.
It has been informed by the CMO that in 2019-20 up till now 551868 patients count has
been recorded in OPDs in comparison to the last year figures which were 483836 across
the district, IPD figures also rises up from 22837 to 31369,successful major operations done
are 2002 against 1164 last year figures, institutional deliveries count also shown significant
rise to 3817 in comparison to 3213 of previous year, successful lab tests conducted 198072
surpassing the earlier figures of 120410, besides ECG number are  also high i.e 4569
against 2401 of(18-19),x- ray figures also shows sufficient growth like 16584 against 14302
of last year, ultrasound which is being only done at Bhadewah by BMO Bhaderwah himself 
the figure shows significant rise like 1076 unlike 983 of last year besides better numbers of
blood transfusion which are 858 against 430 of previous year has been recorded across the
activities.
Commenting upon the shortage of staff at Trauma hospital Khellani and Thathtri DDC
directed the CMO Doda to send the communication regarding the issues to the worthy Chief
Secretary of J&K , so that necessary action can be initiated from their end.
Responding to the non availability of the Ultrasound technician in the district, DDC directed
the CMO and MS Doda to depute one doctor to Bhaderwah where he or she will receive 10-
15 days training from BMO Bhaderwah regarding operating and functioning of ultrasound
machine so that some kind of activity regarding the same will be started at the district
headquarters for the convenience of the general public, besides directed the CMO to
transfer the x-ray technician posted at Bhalla to Bhaderwah where the machine is non
functional due to the non availability of the technician.

For blood transfusion DDC directed the CMO to organise a capacity building programme for
the doctors of Gandoh and Thathri with the help of BMO Bhaderwah so that blood
transfusion activities can be started in these blocks without any fail.
Regarding frozen accounts of VHSN (Village Health Sanitation & Nutrition) committees it
has been directed to Asha coordinator to share the detail of accounts with the banks so that
the fund  not utilised shall be put into use besides directed them to take the UC's of the
utilised funds from the Asha workers within a period of one week.

While expressing deep concern regarding NCD (Non Communicable Diseases) under
which screening of targeted people has to be conducted for the identification of
hypertension and blood sugar patients in the district, DDC directed the concerned to revisit
the figures of screening and asked them to reach near the national figures, so that the aim
of this programme can be fulfilled in letter and spirit, besides DDC shows satisfaction
regarding implementation of other schemes like Ayushman Bharat, RBSK, RNTCP, JSY in
the district and ask the concerned to keep on working with same dedication and spirit for
their successful implementation.
While reviewing the ongoing projects of health department DDC directs the executing
agencies to complete the work of S C Dhareja till the end of the March besides ask them to
handover the completed work of SC Ganika and NTPHC Kastigarh at the end of this
month without any fail  to the concerned department for their proper functioning.
 
Moreover regarding bio medical waste management DDC directed the concerned to dispose of all the bio medical waste generated in their respective institutions according to the guideline of NGT without any fail.
