*Covid-19: District Administration Doda Begins distribution of 2 lac masks in phase ii, already distributed 1 lac masks among the general public across the district*

Doda, May 07:

To ensure universal mask usage, District Administration Doda has intensified tripple layer cotton cloth mask distribution among the people across the district,under the instructions of the District Development Commissioner (DDC)Doda,Dr Sagar D Doifode.

 

It is pertinent to mention here that Doda Administration has already distributed 1lac face masks among the citizens of the district till now including frontline functionaries of health, Municipalities,and police department.

 

DDC Informed that so far 1 lac masks have been distributed by the District Administration in rural as well as in urban area of the district through BDC Chairman’s,PRI members,Municipal Councillors across the district in phase I.

 

District Development Commissioner Doda,Dr Sagar D Doifode also said that every citizen of the district will be provided a face mask as it is mandatory to wear one. He said administration has been manufacturing masks and targets to produce and distribute 4 lakh masks initially.

 

In this regard district administration this time has utilised the services of the FCS&CA department inorder to ensure that the face mask will reach to the last person in the district and accordingly handed over 2 lac locally manufactured triple layer cotton reusable mask TSO wise for further distribution,DDC added.

 

The District Development Commissioner also said that the administration has roped in hundreds of local entrepreneur, self-help groups (SHGs) for the mass production of masks in the district to achieve the target of producing of 4 lac masks at earliest.He Informed that the masks are made under the set guidelines and all the raw material is being provided to the SHGs as well as to the local tailors for the production of the same.

 

DDC who is looking after the COVID-19 preventive measures, said  rapid production, distribution and outreach of masks is being ensured so as to achieve universal mask usage in the district.

 

Besides said that for this purpose the District Administration is utilizing the services of local tailoring shops, Self Help Groups, Umeed voulenteers, KVIB and community participation including PRIs. He said the masks are being provided as a preventive measure against the spread of Covid-19.
