*DDC holds interactive meet with the Representative’s of the Urban local bodies of district* _Stressed on internal resource generation, Asked the executing agencies to maintain the quality of ongoing developmental works in their respective MC’s_ *Also listened the issues raised by the Representative’s*

Doda, July 14:

District Development Commissioner Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode today holds a interactive session with the elected representatives of the Urban local bodies of the district here at the conference hall of the DC office Doda.

 

During the meetings the Executive officers of all the three MC’s viz Doda,Thathri and Bhaderwah apprised the DDC about the revenue generation and expenditure, besides informed the DDC about the physical and financial position of the various developmental projects/ works taken up under different heads like 14th FC, District Capex, IDMT, PMAY Urban and SBM.

 

DDC took the scheme wise review of all the projects and directed the executing agencies to ensure that the quality is being maintained in all the works, besides directed them to take up all the proposed works under district capex with immediate effect.

 

While reviewing the status of construction of PMAY house’s and IHHL unit’s, the DDC directed the concerned authorities to geo tag all the approved PMAY house’s in all the MC’s in the upcoming days, besides asking them to expedite the process of construction of the PMAY house’s and IHHL unit’s on priority basis.

 

The DDC also directed the E0 MC Doda to share the list of beneficiaries of IHHL with the President MC Doda along with the account numbers, so that the list of beneficiaries can be verified and authenticated.

 

Reviewing the status of works taken up under 14th FC, the DDC was informed that majority of the works have been completed and new plan has already been submitted to the concerned quarter’s for final approval.

 

The DDC asked the Councillor’s to project the public utility works more rather individual benefit works, besides DDC asked them to propose one big project in their respective areas for every year, so that more community projects can be created for the convenience of the general public.

 

Meanwhile the Representative’s also highlighted various issues regarding PHE, PDD and PWD departments which includes decongestion of the town’s, proper ducting of water pipelines, blacktopping of link roads of the town, cleanliness of the big nallahs, evacuation of wooden electric poles, water pipelines going through the drains where alternate supply has been provided to the public, construction of multi storied bus stand at Doda, to provide the health staff at Thathri, to equipped the MC’s with more funds, monthly review meetings with the concerned authorities, blacktopping of the Doda Bhaderwah road, separate bus stand at Thathri, besides other issues were also raised which were patiently listened by the DDC.

 

Replying to the issue of ducting of water pipelines and removal of pipeline going through the drains particularly in the areas where alternate supply has been provided,the DDC directed the Ex En PHE to remove the pipes in the areas where already alternate supply has been given with immediate effect besides directed him to cut all the illegal water connections from beoli and to submit the compliance report into the office of DDC with in two days positively.

 

The execcting agencies viz PDD, PWD, PHE department were directed not to start any new work within the territorial limits of the MC’s until the damage compensation is not given to the respective MC.

 

The DDC Informed the President MC Doda that PWD has already prepared the DPR and design for the multi storey bus stand for Doda and as soon as the project will be approved by the higher authorities the work on the same will be started with immediate effect.

 

DDC also said that district administration is persistently working for the improvement of the Toursim Infrastructure of the district particularly in Bhaderwah area and the recent augmentation of the TRC building at Teligarh resort is the best example besides various other toursim related works will be started in the Bhaderwah area in order to enhance the tourism sector of the area and will also lead employment generation in the area.

 

DDC also informed them that the preliminary work on Chattergala Tunnel had been completed and will be started soon and will connect the area with the adjoining district i.e Kathua and will reduce the commutation period of the travel, besides the most ambitious project of High Altitude Medicinal Institute will be started soon as the land has been already identified by the district administration.

 

For Thathri the DDC directed the AEE PWD to prepare the DPR for the construction of separate bus stand at Thathri and to submit the report to the DDC Office within 7 days, besides directed the AEE PDD to verify the buildings which are on rented accommodation and to fix the load as per the family and also directed them to evaluate a mechanism for separate feeder of Thathri town.

 

The DDC motivated the Representative’s, to generate their own resources for the smooth functioning of the institution in independent manner and also asked them to ensure that the funds made available are judiciously utilised in their respective wards.

 

The DDC also lauded the cooperation of the Councillor’s during the Covid-19 management and asked them to maintain the spirit and to keep highlighting the public interest issues with utmost importance.

 

The others who were present in the meeting are CPO Doda, President MC’s, Councillor’s, besides other officers of the Police and Engineering departments.
