*DDC Doda launches massive plantation drive at Block Bhalla under MGNREGA* _5000 fruit bearing saplings to be planted in 3-4days, plantation drive initiated to revive/boost the local horticulture economy of the area_ DDC

Doda,July 27:

District Development Commissioner Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode today launched a massive plantation drive at Block Bhalla under MGNREGA scheme.

 

The plantation drive was kick-started by the DDC at different locations in the block by planting a sapling in the presence of BDC Chairman and other PRI members of the Block.

 

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Informed that near about 6500 pit’s have already been digged at various locations in the block and 5000 fruit bearing saplings are targeted to be planted over 300 kanal proprietary land of the farmer’s in the Bhalla area.

 

The DDC said that the farmer’s all over the district are coming forward and are actively participating in these kind of farmers benefiting initiatives and district administration is also persistently working for their progress.

 

He also said that all these fruit bearing saplings are provided by the horticulture department to the rural development department and the labour cost for pit digging component and the material payment component will be done from the Mgnrega.

 

DDC Doda also informed that after the culmination of the plantation drive here at Bhalla block, the same kind of activities will be carried out through out the district in the upcoming days, in order to revive and boost the horticulture economy of the district.
