DEO Doda reviews preparations regarding Panchayat, ULB bye-elections Holds meeting with representatives of political parties.

 

Doda, October 10,  District Election Officer Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode today chaired a meeting of concerned nodal officers, electoral registration officers and assistant electoral registration officers to discuss various measures regarding the smooth conduct of upcoming Panchayat and Urban Local Bodies (ULB) bye-elections in the district.

On the occasion, a threadbare discussion on the subject was held during which it was informed that 18 sarpanch seats and 26 panch seats are lying vacant in the district besides, 01 seat of councilor in MC Bhaderwah is also lying vacant. However, all the positions of BDC chairpersons have been filled in the previous BDC elections.

Speaking on the occasion, DEO stressed for working in coordination and synergy besides directed for making all the requisite arrangements well in advance.

He also exhorted to ensure that all basic facilities at each designated polling station and emphasized to sort-out all bottlenecks, if any so that the process is conducted smoothly.

Among others, the meeting was also attended by ADC Doda Kishori Lal Sharma, ADC Bhaderwah Rakesh Kumar, ACR Doda Kaiser Bhawani, Deputy DEO Idrees Lone, SDM Thathri Athar Amin, All designated nodal officers, EROs, AEROs, Tehsildars, BDOs and  Executive Officer MC Bhaderwah.

 

DEO Doda also convened a meeting of the representatives of various recognized National/Regional political parties here  in his office chamber.

DEO highlighted various features of upcoming bye elections  and appealed to the representatives of various political parties to refrain from any activity which violates MCC (Model code of conduct)

The representatives of all political parties gave assurance to DEO for their full cooperation in the forthcoming elections
