*11th National Voter’s day celebrated in Doda with National fervor* _DEO Doda administered Pledge, felicitates officials for their outstanding performance; Distributes EPIC Cards to newly enrolled voter’s_ *Said conduct of Free,Fair and transparent elections is the hallmark of strong democracy*

Doda,January 25:

To mark the 11th National Voters’ Day and to encourage newly enrolled voters for participation in electoral process with the theme “Making Our Voter’s Empowered,Vigilant, Safe and Informed”, an impressive function was held today at Community Hall Doda here. 

 

District Election Officer (DEO) Doda,Dr Sagar D Doifode was the Chief Guest on the occasion. 

 

Among others present during the occasion were ADDC Doda Surat Singh, ADC Doda Kishori Lal Sharma,DDC Member Ghat, President MC Doda Ved Prakash Gupta, SE PWD Nasir Zargar,ASP Doda Master Popsy, Joint Director Planning, Parshotam Kumar,DFO Doda Navneet Singh, ACR Doda Kaiser Ahmed Bhawani, Dy DEO Doda,Mohd Idrees Lone,CEO Doda Tariq Hussain, Principal Boy’s Hr Sec School Doda Tanveer Hussain Wani, DSWO Doda Zubair Ahmed Lone, DIO Doda Mohd Ashraf Wani, Tehsildar Doda Shabir Ahmed Malik,Dy Registrar Cooperatives Adil Iqbal Lone, ENT Doda Sajad Akhtar Khanji,besdies Senior district Officers, BLO’s,scores of school students,staff of election and information department and others.

 

At the outset DEO Doda administered pledge to the participants.

 

Addressing the participants DEO Doda said”we have to educate and aware new voters about the ethical and qualitative participation in the electoral process”.

 

The DEO said that earlier the voting right was limited to certain section of the society,but soon after the independence the revolutionary step had been taken and in single stroke all the eligible citizens of the country without any discrimination of caste,colour, gender and creed were given right to vote,thus laid foundation of the world largest democracy.

 

He also highlighted the various innovative reforms which have been taken by the ECI time to time to make the Electoral process more transparent which includes introduction of EVM,VVPAT and other app’s.

 

Moreover the DEO also appreciated the efforts of all the concerned for ensuring the smooth conduct of the recent DDC elections held in the district,with which the 3 tier system came into being for the first time in the district.

 

He appealed all the eligible voters to enroll themselves as electors in the electoral roll.

 

Dy DEO briefied the participants about National Voters Day and the importance of Vote in strengthening the democracy, besides UT level Master Trainer put light on various updations done by Election Commission of India time to time to make elections free and fair in the entire country.

 

During the programme,various activities were held including voters pledge to the participants,debates, Conduct of cultural program and felicitation of best performing Officials for their outstanding performance during the DDC/Panchayat Bye Elections elections 2020 in the district by DEO Doda.

 

It is pertinent to mention here that Similar functions on 11th National Voters’ Day were also held across the District at Sub-Divisions, Tehsil and Booth levels
