A one day mega Job Fair/Rozgar Mela was organised by the District Administration Doda in collaboration with Skill Development department J&K (District Skill Committee Doda) and District Employment & Counselling Centre Doda here at Community Hall Doda.
The Job Fair was inaugurated by the DDC Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode who was Chief Guest on the occasion while the Special Guest of Honour was Sh Dhananter Singh Hon’ble Chairman District Development Council Doda
During the event various departments have laid impressive display of their respective departments, and the DDC alongwith the Hon’ble Chairman inspected all the stalls and enquired about the schemes run by them.
While speaking on the occasion the DDC Doda urged the youth to avail the employment avenues in the private sector which has huge potential to adress the unemployment issue of the young generation in comparison to the Govt sector which has very limited scope.
The DDC stressed on the youth to change their approach and try to become Job Givers rather Job seekers.
He informed the participants that various self employment schemes of Centre as well as UT govt is being implemented in the district and asked them to take maximum benefits out of them, so that the youth shall establish their own business units/enterprises.
It was informed by the concerned that around 280 vacancies of various nature shall be filled out of this mela in NHIDCL, LIC, HDFC Bank, Royal Enfield, local industries and private Schools of Doda District. These companies/firms have taken applications from eligible candidates and shall call them for interview.
During the programme around 45 sanction letter amounting of Rs 3.5 CR were distributed among beneficiaries by the DDC, besides around 2000 unemployed youth get registered with various firms who shall be provided job as per their qualifications and requirements of the said enterprise.
Among others present during the program are ADC Doda Kishori Lal Sharma, CPO Doda Parshotam Kumar, GM DIC Khalid Malik, JD Technical department, DIO/ AD Employment Doda Mohd Ashraf Wani, Rajinder Singh Superintendent ITI Doda besides other officials from district skill development department and other departments.
