Swift action of Childline Doda prevents child marriage

DODA, MARCH 25:

Swift action by Childline Doda prevented an attempt to solemnise the marriage of a minor girl in District Kishtwar after a whistleblower alerted the officials.

As per the officials, telephonic information was received on toll free number 1098, by Coordinator Childline Doda, Meenakshi Raina. The   Childline team Doda brought the matter in the notice of Additional Deputy Commissioner, & Director Childline and also forwarded the information to Chairperson and Members of DCWC (District Child Welfare Committee) Kishtwar.

The swift and timely action prevented the marriage of the girl which was being solemnised in District Kishtwar. The girl Child was produced before DCWC Kishtwar and later put in non institutional care of her parents. The counselling of girl Child and her parents was also done.
