*DC Doda calls for comprehensive formulation of Water Conservation Plan* _Directs to make co-ordinated efforts for the hassle free and metaculous framework of plan_

Doda,March 26:

The Deputy Commissioner Doda Vikas Sharma today chaired the meeting of all the concerned officers and discussed the formulation of water conservation plan for the district Doda.

 

The DC holds threadbare discussion with regards to the necessary components which are required to take into account while formulation of water conservation plan which includes construction of water harvesting structures, conservation/rejuvenation of traditional water bodies, roof top water structures, identification of already existing water bodies, plantation drives, constitution of Jal Shakti Kendra etc.

 

The DC directed all the officers of the concerned line departments to submit the list of works which are projected in the plan related to water conservation activities, besides directed them to also submit the list of the already existing water bodies constructed over the time.

 

Regarding roof top harvesting structure it was discussed in the meeting that all the public buildings in urban  areas shall have the roof top harvesting structure, besides the concerned authorities have been asked to regulate and implement the same in the rural areas in letter and spirit.

 

With regard to the conduct of Gram Sabhas for the formulation and discussion of water conservation plan at each panchayat level, the DC informed the concerned that dates shall be notified within days to carry out the activity across the district on priority basis.

 

The DC asked all the concerned to make co-ordinated efforts to formulate the plan in hassle free and metaculous manner for the tangible results.

 

Among others present during the meeting are ADC Doda, CPO Doda, ACD Doda, DFO Doda, Ex En PHE Doda, CAO Doda besides other concerned Officers.
