*Director Agriculture Jammu Conducts extensive tour of Doda district, interacted with farmers* _Directs field functionaries to ensure dedicated efforts to make farming prime progressive sector in the district_

Doda,June 28:

Director Agriculture Jammu K K Sharma conducted an extensive tour of District Doda, besides holds field inspections including interactive session with the field functionaries as well as farmers of the district.

 

During the visit he took a detailed review of different  activities being done for the welfare of farming community of District,he emphasized on the missionary approach while serving the farmers as the Department is a welfare department and the welfare of  farmers should always remain the utmost priority.

 

He further advised for the formation of Self help groups and community interest groups(CIG) of women farmers on a larger scale as that can revolutionize the farming sector in a big way.

 

He also directed for popularization of beekeeping and other subsidiary activities as that can help in increasing the income of farmers. He also appreciated the efforts of field staff and advised them  to work with more vigour and zeal.

 

 

A field visit was also arranged to vegetable growing areas of Assar and Jathi, during which the farmers accorded a grand reception,a short interaction was also organized on the occasion. 

 

Joint Director Agriculture Extension Shahid Iqbal was also present on the occasion who also interacted with the field staff present on the occasion. Mukesh Khajuria CAO Doda also spoke on the occasion and gave an overview of different activities being done in the district.
