*SWD in Coordination of ALIMCO Organises distribution camp of assistive aid among Specially abled beneficiaries at Bhaderwah* _DC Doda handed over the assistive aid to the beneficiaries, directs the concerned to ensure wide publicity of all the individual benefit schemes for 100% coverage_

DODA, AUGUST 25:- District Social Welfare Department Doda, in collaboration with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), a Public Sector Enterprise under the control of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, today organised a camp for distribution of free aids and appliances among Specially abled beneficiaries at Community Hall Bhaderwah today.
The Deputy Commissioner Doda Vikas Sharma was the Chief Guest on the occasion who handed over the assistive appliances among the Identified beneficiaries.
As many as 131 beneficiaries were provided assistive aid under ADIP scheme of Govt of India, which includes wheelchairs, CP Chair, hearing Aid, Smart cane, Clippers, MSEID kit, Elbow Crutches, Walking sticks, Artificial Limbs etc free of cost.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Doda said that the main objective of the scheme is to assist the needy specially abled persons by providing durable, sophisticated and scientifically manufactured, modern standard aids and appliances to promote physical, social, psychological rehabilitation of persons with disabilities by reducing the effects of disabilities and at the same time enhance their economic potential.
He also appealed to the general public to avail the benefits of all the individual benefit schemes and asked the DSWO Doda to give wide publicity to all the schemes on mission mode in coordination with PRIs and public so that the needy and deserving candidates shall come forward to avail benefit of these schemes.
Among others present during the program are ADC Bhaderwah, DSWO Doda, District and Tehsil Presidents of Handicap associations,TSWO Bhaderwah, besides other concerned officials.
