*POSHAN’s Nukkad Natak* _Another Nukkad Natak/ Awareness programme on POSHAN in trial hamlet Chilly held today._

Doda, October 28: As a part of UT Government’s initiative for Awareness of tribal population on POSHAN (Prime Minister’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nourishment), another Gujari and Kashmir Nukkad Natak and cultural program was organized by the NHM, Tribal Affairs Department in collaboration with the District Information Center Doda today at Government Higher Secondary School Chilly Bhalessa area of District Doda.

 

The objective of these awareness programmes  is to eradicate people of the problem of malnutrition and to raise awareness of the importance of proper nutrition and the overall development of pregnant women, lactating mothers and children.

At Nukkad Natak, artists show how to prevent and check growth inhibition, malnutrition (underweight epidemic), anemia, and  low birth weight (LBW) in infants, women, and adolescent girls.

Tribal residents in the region praised the efforts of the government and artists and appreciated the impactfull initiative of NHM J&K, Tribal Research Institute J & K, and DIPR. The artists performed Gojri Natak and Gojri song on the subject in a professional manner and threw light on the importance of balanced diet to children, adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers.

 

The program was presided over by Principal Government HSS Chilly Jai Bharti and attended by Sarpanch Chilly Ch Noor Mohd, Senior  lecturers of HSS Chilly, Incharge Cultural Cell zone Gandoh Jamat Ali, Nighat Naz Cultural Ambassador zone Gandoh, teachers, students and locals of the area.
