*DDC Doda reviews preparedness for the launch of ‘Sansad Khel Spardha’ in the district* _Directs DYSSO to issue a circular for wide publicity of the event to ensure maximum participation and great success_

Doda, February 10:

District Development Commissioner Doda,Vikas Sharma today chaired meeting of key officials of different departments to review arrangements put in place for the launch of ‘Sansad Khel Spardha’ a national initiative to identify the local talent in different sports activities so that the players shall find a place at national and next levels.

 

During the meeting the DYSSO informed the DDC that on 12th of February the event shall be formally launched. From 12th to 20th February, there shall be registration of the participants and from 21st february to 10th of March there shall be inter panchayat contests under the already finalized sports categories which includes Kho, kabaddi and Volleyball, besides apprised the DDC that from 11 March to 29th march there shall be inter block contest from where a district level team in each category of sports shall be framed for the next round. In addition to this, DYSSO apprised the chair that after the complete selection process of the players, they shall be trained for around 15 days at the district  headquarter by the technical experts.

 

The DDC directed the DYSSO to tie up with their counterparts whether in Doda any activity is scheduled to be organised on the  day  of launch, besides directed to frame a circular which shall include the online link for registration as well as offline numbers for registration of the participants for  maximum participation and grand success to the event.

 

With regard to winter sports event the CEO BDA informed the DDC that BDA and  district administration in coordination with Jawahar institute of Mountaineering will organise a skiing event for which the location of Jai valley has been finalized, besides said that apart from skiing other activities including sledging, snow roping are also in pipeline to be carried out.

 

The DDC directed the CEO BDA and SDM Thathri to give wide publicity of the activities on social and electronic platforms, further, DYSSO informed that they have group of students who have got basic training in skiing and are likely to participate in the event.

 

The DDC directed all the concerned to make concerted efforts so that the event shall be a great success in the district.

 

The meeting was attended by SSP Doda, CEO BDA, ACR Doda, SDM Thathri, Tehsildar Bhaderwah, DYSSO Doda, DEPO Doda. Besides, other concerned officials were also present.
