*ARTO Doda issues notices to 9, suspends RC & Permit of one, vehicle owner for illegal bovine transportntion*

Doda, February 16; 

Taking cognizance on prima facia use of the nine (9) Motor vehicles for the commissioning of the offence of illegal transportation of live stock animals especially bovine animals and in view of sheer violations/contravention, of the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act & Rules and rules framed for transportation of Bovine animals, ARTO Doda Er Kuldeep Singh suspended RC and Permit of one Mahindra Bolero Vehicle bearing no. JK06B-3128 for a period of 03 months under Sections 53 & 86 of Motor Vehicles Act 1988, amended Act 2019. The owner of the said vehicle is hereby directed to surrender the

Registration Certificate to the competent authority immediately.

 

It was informed that after receiving the inputs and evidence of using the vehicles for Bovine transportation illegally, the office of ARTO Doda had issued notices to the nine (9) vehicle owners. One of the vehicle owners with the above referred vehicle number JK06B- 3128 had submitted the reply, which was found unsatisfactory, and therefore, the RC and Permit of the said vehicle has been suspended. 

 

The reply from other eight (8) vehicle owners is still awaited and necessary action under rules shall be taken against them in due course of time.

 

It has been informed that the authorities have geared up the crackdown on the Bovine smugglers, and vehicle owners have been asked not to use their vehicles for illegal Bovine transportation for their own safety.
