*Intensive market checking conducted in Doda town* _Shopkeepers Challaned/ fined on quality, hygiene, and quantity parameters_

DODA, March 29: Intensifying the drive to check food adulteration, hoarding of commodities, edibles, and other consumables, and to check their quality, quantity and hygiene, a team of officers headed by ADC Doda Dr R K Bharti conducted surprise market checking in Doda town. It is to mention here that the market checking teams headed by ADC Doda have already been constituted and are conducting market inspections regularly in view of the holy days of Ramazan and Navratras. The teams members of todays market checking include, ADC Doda, Adll SP Doda, AD FCS&CA Doda, AC Legal Metrology, Doctors from Veternary and Sheep husbandary Departments, Representatives of Food Safety department and Muncipal Council Doda. 

 

 The team inspected various food establishments, including Sweets Shops, Fruit and Vegetable Shops, Chicken Shops, Mutton Shops, Kiryana Shoops, and Milk Shops in the town. Erring shopkeepers were challaned and fined Rs 5800, especially for not displaying rate lists, un-hygienic conditions, rotten fruits and vegetables, and other offences. Besides, the team also inspected Jewlery Shops, Hardware Shops, and other establishments and sensitised the shopkeepers about maintaining quality and hygiene in and around the market. 

 

ADC urged the shopkeepers to display the rate list on the conscipicious place of their shops, maintain hygiene, and restrain from overcharging, hoarding, and adultration. 

 

Similar market inspections were reported from Bhaderwah and Assar markets. It is given out that the same checking shall be conducted regularly here in Doda and in Thathri, Gandoh, Assar, and Bhaderwah areas also.
