Skill Training Workshop Launched by DC Doda Harvinder Singh for Women Entrepreneurs in Bhaderwah, *Empowering Women through Handicraft Development*

District Development Commissioner Harvinder Singh initiated a month-long skill training workshop in Bhaderwah, Doda, focusing on the development of handicrafts from waste products. Launched on December 4, 2023, the workshop is a collaborative effort with the Department of Handicrafts and Handloom. The event witnessed the participation of around 80 artisans registered with the Handicrafts Department.
Accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sh. Dil Mir Choudhary, CEO BDA Bhaderwah Bal Krishan, and other officials, DC Doda commended the hard work of artisans Aniza Mushtaq and Tarab Baba. He applauded women entrepreneurs for their dedication in training artisans to create handmade products from waste materials. DC Doda interacted with participants, inspected live demonstrations, and motivated budding artisans to produce beautiful items for an upcoming winter festival auction.
During the workshop, DC Doda assured the artisans of complete support from the district administration to enhance manufacturing and exports. He highlighted the vital role of the Handicrafts and Handloom sector in generating employment in Jammu Division. The department, under his leadership, aims to provide skill training to unemployed youth in various crafts through training centers, fostering entrepreneurial growth from production to export stages.
In a separate development, DC Doda instructed ADC Bhaderwah to install two skilled stalls in Guldanda for tourists’ purposes. This initiative aims to showcase and promote the locally crafted products, contributing to tourism and economic growth in the region.
